The projector projects bright 7000 lumen images with up to a 4000:1*3 contrast ratio that helps ensure deep blacks, bright whites and outstanding color. The results are images with crisp depth and dimension, and amazing color accuracy, which is critical to those with discerning needs.

Canon's WUXGA resolution brings bright, true widescreen display of highly detailed HD video content and still images with outstanding color richness to large-room installations in high resolution WUXGA (1920 x 1200) at a competitive price. Widescreen graphics, text and other visual content from laptops and desktop computers are shown in accurate proportions from edge to edge with sharp detail.

The projector's laser light source provides up to 20,000*1 hours in standard use of continuous, reliable, high-quality projection. The hours of operation can be nearly doubled when utilizing the Long Duration modes to up to 20 times*7 longer than a conventional lamp's life. Operation is virtually maintenance-free with minimal downtime, as the light source doesn't require routine replacement. This keeps running costs relatively low when looking at the total life of the product – a key consideration for challenging and hard-to-reach installations.

Fast Boot Function

When Fast Boot Function is set to ON, the startup time is reduced to virtually 2 seconds the next time the projector is started from a standby status.

Omnidirectional Projection

Because this projector uses a laser light source instead of a conventional lamp it can be installed at any angle on a 360° axis facing in any direction. A Menu Rotation function also enhances portrait projection, allowing adjustment of the angle of the projector's menu up to 90° left and right.

Wider Color Gamut

Because the laser light source produces a wide range of colors, the projector covers the sRGB color space to deliver millions of colors.

Quiet Modes

Quiet Modes reduce the volume of projector operation to around 29 dB for more silent performance to reduce any potential of interfering with audible content.

The exceptional imaging performance of the projector starts with Canon's proprietary AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) Optical Engine. This engine utilizes advanced light management technology to maximize the contrast and brightness benefits of the projector's LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) display panels, which deliver superior reflectivity and durability while accomplishing high luminance. The result is highly detailed, seamless, ultra-sharp image projection in virtually any environment.

Six optional interchangeable Genuine Canon lenses enable a wide variety of applications for exceptional image quality and flexibility. A spigot lens mount system is designed so that the lens can be quickly and securely installed in virtually seconds. Optional lenses include the Ultra Short Fixed Lens RS-SL06UW, which features compatibility with Marginal Focus for accurate projection onto a spherical surface, a 0.54:1 throw ratio and a generous vertical lens shift of V: -15% – 75%, H: ±30% horizontal.

The projector supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) exhibiting bright highlights and deep blacks for a wider dynamic range. The wider dynamic range expands the contrast and the color, both extremely important factors when it comes to the image. This provides an incredible viewing experience.

The projector includes Canon's latest Motion Blur Reduction feature for improved visibility when movement is fast. By inserting extra frames to video content, motion blur is reduced and the clarity of graphics and text on fast-moving objects is preserved. Three different modes (Strong, Low and Off) are included for flexibility, with each depending on the level of movement and type of video content.

Connections include: HDMI, DVI-I and analog RGB computer connectors; DisplayPort for image and audio signal transmission over a single cable; Wi-Fi support for NMPJ functions; a VGA connector; and a LAN connection terminal which relays data to a built-in HDBaseT receiver for transmission of video and audio signals from a source device. Industry-standard control and networking inputs include a network-ready RJ-45 port enabling authorized users to manage and control multiple projectors from any PC on a network (Gigabit data transfer speeds are supported), an RS-232 serial connection for monitoring the projector locally through a third-party control system, a USB Type A port for easy installation of firmware upgrades and a mini-jack for connecting an optional hand-held wired remote controller.
