This projector utilizes Single-chip Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology, which is a widely utilized projection technology that creates natural and lifelike images. The DLP technology utilizes a 6-segment color wheel along with a reflective Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) to produce video and images with color and high brightness. The resulting high-resolution video and images maintain the details inherent in what you are showing.
The LX-MU500 has a throw ratio of 1.07 – 1.71:1, and a slight vertical Lens shift of 52.5% - 55% -- making it possible to adjust the image without digital distortion. The 4-Point Keystone function makes it possible to adjust the image corners independently to offer additional flexibility while keeping the image in focus. Traditional keystone provides ±30° vertical and horizontal adjustment.

This projector offers a DICOM Simulation Mode to simulate the results of devices compliant with the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Part 14 standardized display function for display of grayscale images. The DICOM Simulation Mode adjusts the gradation between the minimum and the maximum luminance so gradation is distributed optimally. This feature is optimized for displaying medical images such as X-rays, CAT scans and MRIs, which makes this projector ideal for non-diagnostic purposes such as lectures, academic meetings and in-hospital conferences. The design of the LX-MU500 allows for simplified maintenance - air filters and the projection lamp can be replaced while the projector remains ceiling mounted without having to uninstall. The replacement interval on the projection lamp is 2,000 hours in Standard mode and 2,500 hours in Eco mode.
The LX-MU500 is capable of projecting 3D content via the DLP-Link Content Projection System. To project and view 3D materials a 3D Blu-ray player and DLP-Link 3D glasses are required.
A 10W speaker built-into the LX-MU500 makes it easy to add sound to presentations and displays in a range of smaller environments without the need to add additional speakers and sound equipment, or connect to an already-present sound system.
