Supporting a total takeoff weight of 18 pounds, the Spreading Wings S900 with Zenmuse Z15-GH4 Gimbal is a hexcopter from DJI that allows you to capture aerial video using a separately available Panasonic GH3 or GH4 camera. It features carbon fiber frame arms to cut down on weight, which fold down for storage and transport. The included Z15-GH4 gimbal helps keep the camera stabilized and isolated from vibration, and allows you to pan, tilt, and even cant the camera for more dynamic shots. Used with a 6S 12000mAh battery, available separately, the S900 can fly for up to 18 minutes fully laden.
This version of the S900 features the DJI WooKong-M flight control system, a collection of hardware components that control mixing, regulate power, provide sensor data. The flight control system features attitude and GPS attitude flight modes, offering the pilot varying degrees of autopilot intervention depending on skill level and preference. In GPS mode it is possible to hover in a fixed position, which is ideal for capturing static video shots. In attitude mode, the flight controller will use IMU data to keep the aircraft stable, but when hovering it may drift due to inertia or wind currents. It also features return to home, Intelligent Orientation Control, and other features made possible thanks to computerized, GPU-based flight control. The built-in receiver is compatible with PCM and 2.4 GHz transmitters (radio controllers) that have at least 7 channels. In addition, third-party receivers are also supported.
