The Dyson Airblade dB hand dryer has been acoustically re-engineered to reduce air rush noise and sound generated by the motor. It's 50% quieter than the original Dyson Airblade hand dryer, but still dries hands in 12 seconds.
Up to 9.25 gallons of air are forced through two 0.4 mm apertures every second, generating sheets of air travelling at 420mph. Some noise is inevitable. To reduce noise, Dyson engineers redesigned the shape of the apertures. When the air collides, its velocity is lower – and so is the sound.
The Dyson Airblade dB hand dryer has been approved for use in food preparation environments by HACCP International. It's the only hands-in dryer certified as hygienic for use in the food and beverage industry.
The HEPA filter inside the Dyson Airblade dB hand dryer captures 99.97% of particles the size of bacteria and viruses. It has a grill to capture larger debris, a fleece layer to capture fluff and fibers and a pleated HEPA media to capture particles as small as 0.3 microns.
The Dyson Airblade dB hand dryer is made from tough and durable ABS polycarbonate — the same material used in riot shields. It's been repeatedly tested to withstand the pressures of high footfall, high usage washrooms.
